Tafsir of Surah Maryam 19:50
﴿وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّا﴾
Translation of the meaning
And We gave them of Our mercy, and We made for them a mention [i.e., reputation] of high honor.

فالاسم يظهر به المسمى ويعلو؛ فيقال للمسمى: سمه: أي أظهره وأعله أي أعل ذكره بالاسم الذي يذكر به؛ لكن يذكر تارة بما يحمد به ويذكر تارة بما يذم به كما قال تعالى: {وجعلنا لهم لسان صدق عليا}«مجموع الفتاوى» 6/208
