Tafsir of Surah Al-Baqara 2:13
﴿وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ آمِنُوا كَمَا آمَنَ النَّاسُ قَالُوا أَنُؤْمِنُ كَمَا آمَنَ السُّفَهَاءُ أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ السُّفَهَاءُ وَلَٰكِن لَّا يَعْلَمُونَ﴾
Translation of the meaning
And when it is said to them, "Believe as the people have believed," they say, "Should we believe as the foolish have believed?" Unquestionably, it is they who are the foolish, but they know [it] not.

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim
والسفه غاية الجهل وهو مركب من عدم العلم بما يصلح معاشه ومعاده وإرادته بخلافه«بدائع الفوائد» 4/131فنفي العلم عنه بالسفه الذي هو فيه متضمن لإثبات جهله ونفى الشعور عنه بالفساد الواقع منه متضمن لفساد آلات إدراكه فتضمنت الآيتان الإسجال عليهم بالجهل وفساد آلات الإدراك بحيث يعتقدون الفساد صلاحا والشر خيرا.«بدائع الفوائد» 4/131
