Tafsir of Surah Al-Baqara 2:268
﴿الشَّيْطَانُ يَعِدُكُمُ الْفَقْرَ وَيَأْمُرُكُم بِالْفَحْشَاءِ وَاللَّهُ يَعِدُكُم مَّغْفِرَةً مِّنْهُ وَفَضْلًا وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ﴾
Translation of the meaning
Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to immorality, while Allāh promises you forgiveness from Him and bounty. And Allāh is all-Encompassing and Knowing.

والثاني: أن يلقي في قلبه عندما يلم به، ومنه وعده وتمنيته حين يعد الإنسي ويمنيه، ويأمره وينهاه، كما قال تعالى {يعدهم ويمنيهم وما يعدهم الشيطان إلا غرورا} [النساء: 120] وقال {الشيطان يعدكم الفقر ويأمركم بالفحشاء} [البقرة: 268]«مدارج السالكين بين منازل إياك نعبد وإياك نستعين» 1/71
