Tafsir of Surah Al-Baqara 2:7
﴿خَتَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَعَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِمْ وَعَلَىٰ أَبْصَارِهِمْ غِشَاوَةٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ﴾
Translation of the meaning
Allāh has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great punishment.

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim
ومن هذا إخباره سبحانه بأنه طبع على قلوب الكافرين وختم عليها وأنه أصمها عن الحق وأعمى أبصارها عنه«شفاء العليل في مسائل القضاء والقدر والحكمة والتعليل» 1/82والوقف التام هنا ثم قال: {وعلى أبصارهم غشاوة}«شفاء العليل في مسائل القضاء والقدر والحكمة والتعليل» 1/82
