Tafsir of Surah Al-Anbiyaa 21:7
﴿وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِي إِلَيْهِمْ فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ﴾
Translation of the meaning
And We sent not before you, [O Muḥammad], except men to whom We revealed [the message], so ask the people of the message [i.e., former scriptures] if you do not know.

تارة يبين أنه لم يرسل ملائكة، بل رجالا من أهل القرى، ليبين أن هذا معتاد معروف، ليس هو أمرا لم تجر به عادة الرب؛«النبوات» 1/175فالمقصود بيان أن أهل الكتاب عندهم ما يصدقك فيما كذبك فيه الكافرون وذلك من وجوه.«الجواب الصحيح لمن بدل دين المسيح» 2/359
