Tafsir of Surah Al-Furqaan 25:55
﴿وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُهُمْ وَلَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَكَانَ الْكَافِرُ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِ ظَهِيرًا﴾
Translation of the meaning
But they worship rather than Allāh that which does not benefit them or harm them, and the disbeliever is ever, against his Lord, an assistant [to Satan].

وهذه العبادة هي الموالاة والمحبة والرضا بمعبوديهم المتضمنة لمعيتهم الخاصة فظاهروا أعداء الله على معاداته ومخالفته ومساخطه بخلاف وليه سبحانه فإنه معه على نفسه وشيطانه وهواه«الفوائد» 1/80
