Tafsir of Surah Saba 34:54
﴿وَحِيلَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ مَا يَشْتَهُونَ كَمَا فُعِلَ بِأَشْيَاعِهِم مِّن قَبْلُ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا فِي شَكٍّ مُّرِيبٍ﴾
Translation of the meaning
And prevention will be placed between them and what they desire, as was done with their kind before. Indeed, they were in disquieting doubt [i.e., denial].

ولهذا جعل الله سبحانه وتعالى مفارقة المشتهيات من أعظم العقوبات، فقال تعالى: {وحيل بينهم وبين ما يشتهون - كما فعل بأشياعهم من قبل إنهم كانوا في شك مريب} [سبأ: 54]«مدارج السالكين بين منازل إياك نعبد وإياك نستعين» 3/178
