Tafsir of Surah Al-An'aam 6:137
﴿وَكَذَٰلِكَ زَيَّنَ لِكَثِيرٍ مِّنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قَتْلَ أَوْلَادِهِمْ شُرَكَاؤُهُمْ لِيُرْدُوهُمْ وَلِيَلْبِسُوا عَلَيْهِمْ دِينَهُمْ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مَا فَعَلُوهُ فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا يَفْتَرُونَ﴾
Translation of the meaning
And likewise, to many of the polytheists their partners have made [to seem] pleasing the killing of their children in order to bring about their destruction and to cover them with confusion in their religion. And if Allāh had willed, they would not have done so. So leave them and that which they invent.

فأصل ما يوقع الناس في السيئات: الجهل، وعدم العلم بكونها تضرهم ضررا راجحا، أو ظن أنها تنفعهم نفعا راجحا.«مجموع الفتاوى» 14/290Imam Ibn al-Qayyim
والله تعالى يضيف تزيين الدنيا والمعاصي إلى الشياطين، كما قال تعالى {وزين لهم الشيطان ما كانوا يعملون} [الأنعام: 43] وقال {وكذلك زين لكثير من المشركين قتل أولادهم شركاؤهم} [الأنعام: 137]«مدارج السالكين بين منازل إياك نعبد وإياك نستعين» 1/201
