Tafsir of Surah Al-Anfaal 8:52
﴿كَدَأْبِ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَالَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَوِيٌّ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ﴾
Translation of the meaning
[Theirs is] like the custom of the people of Pharaoh and of those before them. They disbelieved in the signs of Allāh, so Allāh seized them for their sins. Indeed, Allāh is Powerful and severe in penalty.

فإن أخذه يتضمن أخذهم ليصلوا بعد الموت إلى العذاب ولفظ الهلاك يقتضي هلاكهم في الدنيا وزوال النعمة عنهم فذكر هلاكهم بزوال النعم وذكروا أخذهم بالنقم«رسالة في معنى كون الرب عادلا» 1/135
