Tafsir of Surah At-Tawba 9:129
﴿فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَقُلْ حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ﴾
Translation of the meaning
But if they turn away, [O Muḥammad], say, "Sufficient for me is Allāh; there is no deity except Him. On Him I have relied, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne."

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah
لأن الله تعالى وحده حسب عبده أي كافيه، لا يحتاج الرب في كفايته إلى أحد لا رسول ولا نبي،«الإخنائية (أو الرد على الإخنائي)» 1/487وجعل الحسب لله وحده، والرغبة إلى الله وحده،«قاعدة عظيمة في الفرق بين عبادات أهل الإسلام والإيمان وعبادات أهل الشرك والنفاق» 1/17
