Tafsir of Surah Al-Qasas 28:16
﴿قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَغَفَرَ لَهُ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ﴾
Translation of the meaning
He said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me," and He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

وقال في قتل النفس: {رب إني ظلمت نفسي فاغفر لي} .«مجموع الفتاوى» 7/62Imam Ibn al-Qayyim
والمقصود أن موسى شهد توحيد الرب وانفراده بالخلق والحكم وفعل السفهاء ومباشرتهم الشرك، فتضرع إليه بعزته وسلطانه وأضاف الذنب إلى فاعله [وجانيه]«طريق الهجرتين وباب السعادتين» 1/167
