Tafsir of Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:112

Translation of the meaning

They have been put under humiliation [by Allāh] wherever they are overtaken, except for a rope [i.e., covenant] from Allāh and a rope [i.e., treaty] from the people [i.e., the Muslims]. And they have drawn upon themselves anger from Allāh and have been put under destitution. That is because they disbelieved in [i.e., rejected] the verses of Allāh and killed the prophets without right. That is because they disobeyed and [habitually] transgressed.

فبين سبحانه أنهم أينما ثقفوا فعليهم الذلة إلا مع العهد«الصارم المسلول على شاتم الرسول» 1/22

فعلم أن من له عهد وحبل لا ذلة عليه وان كانت عليه المسكنة فإن المسكنة قد تكون مع عدم الذلة«الصارم المسلول على شاتم الرسول» 1/22

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim

فبين سبحانه أنهم أينما ثقفوا فعليهم الذلة إلا مع العهد«أحكام أهل الذمة» 3/1391

فعلم أن من له عهد وحبل يأمن به على نفسه وماله لا ذلة عليه، وإن كانت عليه المسكنة، فإن المسكنة قد تكون مع عدم الذلة،«أحكام أهل الذمة» 3/1391
