Tafsir of Surah Al-Ahzaab 33:15
﴿وَلَقَدْ كَانُوا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ مِن قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّونَ الْأَدْبَارَ وَكَانَ عَهْدُ اللَّهِ مَسْئُولًا﴾
Translation of the meaning
And they had already promised Allāh before not to turn their backs [i.e., flee]. And ever is the promise to Allāh [that about which one will be] questioned.

وهذه حال أقوام عاهدوا ثم نكثوا قديما وحديثا«مجموع الفتاوى» 28/453فدل على أن عهد الله يدخل فيه ما عقده المرء على نفسه وإن لم يكن الله قد أمر بنفس ذلك المعهود عليه قبل العهد كالنذر والبيع إنما أمر بالوفاء به؛«مجموع الفتاوى» 29/138
