Tafsir of Surah Al-An'aam 6:43
﴿فَلَوْلَا إِذْ جَاءَهُم بَأْسُنَا تَضَرَّعُوا وَلَٰكِن قَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ﴾
Translation of the meaning
Then why, when Our punishment came to them, did they not humble themselves? But their hearts became hardened, and Satan made attractive to them that which they were doing.

أي فهلا إذ جاءهم بأسنا تضرعوا فحقهم عند مجيء البأس التضرع«مجموع الفتاوى» 8/163Imam Ibn al-Qayyim
فأضاف التزيين إليه منه سبحانه خلقا ومشيئة وحذف فاعله تارة ونسبة إلى سببه ومن أجراه على يده تارة«شفاء العليل في مسائل القضاء والقدر والحكمة والتعليل» 1/103
