Tafsir of Surah Al-A'raaf 7:38

Translation of the meaning

[Allāh] will say, "Enter among nations which had passed on before you of jinn and mankind into the Fire." Every time a nation enters, it will curse its sister until, when they have all overtaken one another therein, the last of them will say about the first of them, "Our Lord, these had misled us, so give them a double punishment of the Fire." He will say, "For each is double, but you do not know."

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah

فأخبر سبحانه أن الأتباع دعوا على أئمة الضلال بتضعيف العذاب«مجموع الفتاوى» 10/727

وأخبر سبحانه أن لكل من المتبعين والأتباع تضعيفا من العذاب. ولكن لا يعلم الأتباع التضعيف.«مجموع الفتاوى» 10/727

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim

كل أمة متأخرة لأسلافها«الرسالة التبوكية = زاد المهاجر إلى ربه» 1/48

ضاعفه عليهم بما أضلونا وصدونا عن طاعة رسلك،«الرسالة التبوكية = زاد المهاجر إلى ربه» 1/48

قال الله تعالى: {قال لكل ضعف} من الأتباع والمتبوعين بحسب ضلالة وكفره {ولكن لا تعلمون} لا تعلم كل طائفة بما فيه أختها من العذاب المضاعف«الرسالة التبوكية = زاد المهاجر إلى ربه» 1/48
